Tanning Issues
I competed in two shows last year and was super frustrated because I could never seem to get my color dark enough. I noticed that you and several other girls seem to always have great color. I just want to be better prepared for my shows this year and was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

Erica, I completely understand the frustration. I think most would save they have had similar issues and had to learn on a trial by trial basis. I’m not sure what you have been using but there are several products on the market such as Jan Tana, Pro Tan and Dream Tan. They are all great products and you might hear from many different people that have had good and bad experiences with each. Personally, I use Jan Tana and order directly from her website. I typically order the 5 item competition color kit. The body scrub is great for neutralizing the ph levels in your skin which is important in avoiding a green color (which I have done myself) and the moisturizer is great for the skin as well. You can also contact her, she is great about emailing responses, to any questions you might have right away. You can also check to see if she will be attending any of the shows you will compete in. If she is, you can just pay to have her airbrush the color on the day before the show and everyone there is fun and makes you feel at ease. And let me say, on a personal note, it is the easiest way and saves a lot of time. I think that Pro Tan offers the same type of set up and you can always check their site to see what shows they are available for as well. I listed a couple of links for you where you can purchase competition color products. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if you find another product out there that you love and I will be sure to mention them. Train hard and keep smiling!
