2009 San Francisco Championships Review by Juan Carlos Lopez

Monique Varela

Hayward, CA was the city hosting the 2009 San Francisco Championships. Chabot College being the usual venue for bay area events accomodated a large crowd similar to the successful Contra Costa in May.

Alika Faulkner

Figure A was won by Donna Anderson in a very decent class. Class B was for Jenna Boyer who has competed at national level before. She should be doing Nationals again. Class C was for Ciara Cito who seems to be new in the circuit. Class D was for Monique Varela who won the overall for figure.

On Masters figure Sue Conners took class A while Alika Faulkner with a very tight and well balanced physique took class B and overall. Cassandra Chandler took 45 and over figure.

Mary Gines

Bikini was small but decent sized for this show. Class A was for Elena Andrade. Nichole Sammann took class B over superstar Whitney Larson. Class C was for Mary Gines who also took the overall in the category. Helanaide Tomasi won the masters over 35 in bikini.

Joella Bernard

Bodybuilding was even smaller Nancy Bringham took middleweights and Joella Bernard took the heavyweight class and overall.
