Sheri Vucick's Fitness Journey by Sheri Vucick

Sheri Vucick

My name is Sheri Vucick I am a Army wife and mother of 3 amazing boys Steven 13yrs, Joey 6yrs and William 8month. I got started in the fitness industry when I was 21 right after I had my first son. I was a competitive gymnast until I was 17 and missed pushing myself and setting goals. I needed something, I’m a born competitor! So I started weight training put together a routine and a month later I did my first show and placed 2nd. The feeling of accomplishment when I was on stage was like nothing I ever felt and the memories are something I will cherish for a long time. I have been competing for over 10 years now winning the Fitness Universe title 3x's 2003, 2006 and 2008.

I feel like I have accomplished everything I have set out to in that organization and am ready for a new challenge. My family and I just moved to Washington State home of one of my favorite fitness competitors Tanji Johnson. I am now part of her Save fitness Team.. Their support and guidance has meant the world to me and I feel so fortunate to be part of such an amazing group of ladies. I am competing next weekend at the NPC show in Vancouver and then Emerald Cup April 15th. I have just opened a Child Care business on the Army base here in FT Lewis where we live. This has been one of the most challenging shows to get ready for but I'm super excited and will be ready!! I feel like at 34 years old switching organizations is something I should have done and wanted to do a long time ago but never had the time to commit... Its Never too late for a change!!!

Being a mother of three, wife and full time worker can make getting ready for shows a little more challenging.. I do an hour to an hour and a half of cardio a day. Weight train shoulders Mon, Back Tues, Legs Wed, bi's and tri's Thurs and Chest and shoulders Friday along with fitness routine practice 3x's a week and posing with Tanji and the Save Fitness girls 3x's a month. My cardio and weight training some how fit into my daily schedule usually really really early in the morning or really late at night when the kids are asleep. I just take one day at a time and learn how to manage my time but family always comes first... For my diet I eat lots of fish, egg whites or chicken with green veggies some good carbs yam, brown rice, oatmeal, grapefruit and good fats. I eat every two or three hours and drink lots of water.

My kids LOVE my diet food! Its really hard when you have your servings all portioned out and they always want a bite...now I just make extra! There is always a shortage of eggs and cottage cheese in my house I can't even believe how many eggs we go through in a week!! I love competing and being a good influence on my children and the people around me. My number one goal is to teach my kids what I've learned from competing and that is to believe in yourself. If you believe in yourself anything is possible!!
