Jennifer Becerra IFBB Fitness Pro
How did you get interested in
Started as a Personal Trainer at 24 Hr. Fitness & somebody told me I had good genetics to compete in fitness/figure. Took me about 8 years to get over all the injuries I've had to deal with.
How was your first show like, any interesting experiences?
It was nerve racking!!! I competed in both Fitness & Figure! I was #1 in both categories and was running back and forth like a chicken with no head on! I had never seen a competition, had no help in the back or time to even eat my meals! I was a basket case!!! It's a wonder I placed 1st in the Fitness and 2nd in the Figure at all. Learned a lot from that & I wouldn't suggest competing in 2 categories at the same competition again!!
What do you like and dislike about competing?
I love the glory moments of being on stage performing and feeling confident about my physique. I hate the diet, training at 6 am, and that I can't find any clothes to fit me!!
What are your future goals in this industry?
I want people to know my name, face and body & appreciate the hard work that myself and many others put into this industry to make a living.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
Managing my own Athletic Center
Please tell us something special about you that most people
I was a "Tomboy" growing up in Martial Arts and was an ugly kid!!! Braces, glasses, hair as short as a boy, wore baggy clothes to hide my muscular body from gymnastics. I did a 360 on everybody my Senior year in HS and won Homecoming Queen! After that, I've continuously tried to look and feel like a woman. Thanks to the help of my college roommates and The Rockets dance team for teaching me style, how to put on make-up and fix my hair. I still have a hard time looking at pics of myself and reading messages that people think I'm a hot chic!! It's deeply appreciated!!!
Any additional notes? People you would like to thank?
I'd like to thank everybody that has had to put up with my selfishness all these years! (You know who you are!) Family especially!! But most of all the people that got me where I wanted to be in the fitness industry representing H-town Fitness & Team TX. Muscle are "Bossman!" Ernesto Osorio my nutritionist, "Big Chic!" Mary Hobbs, Figure posing trainer and last but not least the one who puts up with my cranky moods morning, noon and night . . . . my trainer, Bryan Kiser!! Thanks so much guys for believing in me enough!! We did it! IFBB Pro Fitness competitor in 2 shows! I have so much to be grateful for!
