Karen Walcott IFBB Fitness Pro

How did you get interested in bodybuilding/working out?

I love dancing and being on stage, so at age 16 I starting competing in all types of dance and talent contest, and eventually it lead me to the YMCA gym faciltity in Trinidad in which I entered my country's first Aerobic Marathon andform over 125 competitors at 16 years of age and energy to burn I WON. From there I kept in the gym then a year later I was an Aerobic Instructor, and stayed with it till now.

How was your first show like, any interesting experiences?

My first show was great, nobdy expected me to look like I did when they saw mw on stage, even my mother did not recognise me, but i was nervous like hell, in a swimsuit but when it came to the routine I bcame a whole other person. After winning my country's first fitness contest in 2000 it was deja vu.

What do you like and dislike about competing?

I love the day of contest and performing, I dislike the that after all the hard work, even if every one of us girl are in great shape and tone, only the top 3 gets a prize.

What are your future goals in this industry?

To continue to compete until I have had enough, to teach and educate any up coming athlete about the sports and train them, and be the best I can be in the future.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

God's WIlling and the world still exist, I hope to be still in the fitness industry, healthy and at peace.

Please tell us something special about you that most people wouldn't know?

I teach a mean, energetic fun loving caribbean flavor AKB aerobic class, weither it is in Trinidad or here in the USA

Any additional notes? People you would like to thank?

I thank God for my Talent and for giving me the grace to deal with this industry, my Trainer for over 6 years Ian 'Jamesey' Adams, my Husband Robert Williams, my kids Mychael and Daniel , Cousin Monica and Aunt, my family, and every one who in their own little way encouraged me and supported me all the way no matter what and still do.
