How did you get interested in bodybuilding/working out?

I grew up in a very small town with nothing to do, so I started running and riding my bike all the time. Then I moved to college and joined a gym and was hooked. I've learned so much in the last 9 years about training and dieting. I am very amazed by the whole process.

What was your first show like, any interesting experiences?

Yeah, a few. Simply amazed by the science of this sport. I had no idea my body held soo much water until the day after the show. Can we say Miserable?

What do you like and dislike about competing?

I liked the whole experience except three weeks before the show when you feel absolutely retarted because you are on no carbs. My brain can't funtion under normal circumstances much less under those. :) I travel for work, so needless to say, packing a weeks worth of chicken, sweet potatoes, and brocolli wasn't fun, nor was finding a gym/cardio equipment in the small towns I travel to.

What are your future goals in this industry?

I am currently working on an ACE certification to become a trainer as secondary income. I want to learn all I can about fitness and how the body responds to different training techniques. 2005 I will be attending Junior Nationals again to receive my pro card.:) That's the goal isnt it??

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

Hopefully I will be married with a few kids and be able to train a few clients and stay home with my children.

Please tell us something special about you that most people wouldn't know?

Most people wouldn't look at me and guess that I have a Piano Performance degree. I have studied music since I was seven years old and went to college on a scholarship. Just a little Jill History.

Any additional notes? People you would like to thank?

Three years ago I wanted sooo badly to do a show but didn't even know where to start. My friend, Stephanie Knowles, decided to compete in her first figure show 8 weeks out. I just remember how she looked about 4 weeks out and thought I could never do that, so I kept running and ended up running a marathon instead because I knew I could probably accompolish that. A year later I met the wonderful Howie Huddleston, Owner of Body Tech in Moore, Ok. He saw potential in me and talked me into doing my first show. He trained and composed a diet for me. He told me the first time I cheated, he was done. That's basically all he had to say. I never did. I placed 2nd in that show. A year later I decided to do two more shows, the changes were dramatic and I'm still amazed. Stephanie and I trained together for Junior Nationals in June 2004 with her husband as our trainer, Justin Knowles. He did a wonderful job with us. I won short class in the Oklahoma and placed 15th at Juniors in my height class. Stephanie placed 3rd at Juniors. I had amazing support from my gym and wonderful trainers the past two years. I'd like to thank Howie for allowing me to train at his gym and look at me from week to week. I was always questioning him, but somehow, he was ALWAYS right on the money. I guess that's why he had such a successful 2004. A few procards came from our gym this year. Also, special thanks to my darling friend, Stephanie and her husband, Justin for all the support. Without her right by my side the whole way, I could've never accompolished what I have. She is an amazing person. Thanks for all the help.
