Rhonda Riley IFBB Figure Pro

How did you get interested in bodybuilding/working out?

Worked at the gym with Nicole Hobbs (former IFBB pro Fitness) and she introduced me..

What was your first show like, any interesting experiences?

I had a wonderful first show experience. I did fitness in my first show. It was the local Sacramento show here. Including me there were 7 competitors. I was a tiny 114lbs on stage at my first show. Believe it or not, some of my fellow competition there was Jenny Lynn, Jenny Hanke, Nita Wilson-Marquez, Sara Waide. The other two were first timers like me. I was so happy to get 5th place behind these (then nationally ranked) girls.. They were all so sweet and helpful. If it wasnt for them making my first show a pleasant experience, I might not have competed since.

What do you like and dislike about competing?

I love the adrenaline rush I still get every time I step onstage. I love it because of the wonderful friends I made and positive people I meet and watch succeed.Like anyone, I dislike being overlooked. Who doesnt?

What are your future goals in this industry?

Typically my future goals is to hopefully make it on the Olympia stage competing and maybe make it on a cover of a magazine..

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

I would love to be raising a family and possibly still be competing. We will just have to wait and see..

Please tell us something special about you that most people wouldn't know?

This sport is about genetics. Right? Well I have been searching for my biological father since I found out when I was 11 years old. According to my mother his name is Todd Marentez.. I keep looking year after with no luck. .I have faith that someday I will actually meet him. Maybe we can have a wonderful relationship. This is something that remains special in my heart.

Any additional notes? People you would like to thank?

Here is a quick note to all aspiring competitors. Remember to follow your heart and your dreams, the sky is the limit. Stay positive. You will never get to the top by quitting... I would like to thank my husband for his unconditional love and support, has always been by my side and apart of making my dreams come true. Thanks to Kathryn (Kat) and Chad Taylor, you are the best friends we could ever want and have. You are like family to us Erica and Steve Davidson, we sure have grown together in this industry and as friends. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the fitness industry. Without you I wouldnt have the drive to be my best
