Inga Neverauskaite – exotic figure pro from Lithuania by Kaisa Piippo
Born in Lithuania, eastern Europe, Inga Neverauskaite brings exotic beauty to the pro ranks with her beautiful looks and confident stage presence. Besides competing in figure and travelling around the world, Inga works in in a medical company dealing with order processing. She moved to Great Britain in 2001 and now lives there with her husband. They were hoping to get a better life there since Lithuania was still a developing country at that time and didn’t offer that many possibilities to a young couple. Her husband is very supportive with Inga’s competing as well as is her family who still live in Lithuania. She visits them three to four times a year and hopes that someday they would be able to come watch her compete in a pro show.
Inga’s resume for competition is impressive since she is only 25 years old. Inga started competing in 1997 after training for only six months. A photographer talked to her at the gym and told her she should compete. “I competed in competitive aerobics for years and won the Lithuanian Championships three times a row from 2001 to 2003. Then I switched to figure, or body fitness as it is called in Europe. I won the European Championships and the World Championships in 2003. The greatest competition for me was the British Championships in 2003 which I won and finally earned my pro card. I had never even thought of becoming a pro until I had to pro card in my hand. It was such an amazing thing to happen, something I had never dared to dream about.” She made her pro debut in 2004 and has been able to climb up placings since then, placing second in this year’s Montreal Pro Figure. She qualified for the Olympia there. This year’s Olympia is her first one and she says, “I’m so excited to get on the stage here in Vegas with all the other pro girls. This has been my goal since I got my pro card. I’m not worried about my placing, it’s not important to me. What counts is the wonderful experience and just being able to compete in this show.”
Inga has been training with weights for nine years. She works out four times a week on competition season and plans her workouts by how she looks. On off season she trains five times a week and does 1-2 hours of cardio by going to aerobics classes. “I usually use the same workout plan for about three months and then I change it so my body doesn’t get used to it. I change my training from heavy weights and less reps to smaller weights and more reps from week to week to give my body the shock it needs to get more conditioned. I also think stretching is essential and I always stretch after my workouts.” Inga’s favourite bodypart is her back. She’s got a very nice V-shape and no wonder why: this girl uses the classic pullups to build herself a nice, full back.
Inga has a nutritionist in the Great Britain who plans her diet and also her workouts. “I get a list of foods from my trainer with the details how to plan each meal and each day. I choose my own foods then and eat the foods I enjoy the most. My favourite diet foods are turkey and rice, yum! I believe my diet is just basics, nothing special. We go by how I look and make changes whenever needed. I always eat clean but on off season I might have one cheat meal a week. My favourite cheats are pizza and lasagna – I don’t really care for anything sweet.” Inga also uses some supplements like whey protein, branched aminos and multivitamins. She has just got a new sponsorship deal with Universal Nutrition.
When asked about her future in this sport, Inga says, “I love competing. I will keep doing it as long as it feels good and as long as I can see myself getting better and better. There are still many things I can improve in. Right now the most important things I should pay attention to are my suits and posing. Sometimes all the travelling, language barriers and being from another country feels tough when I’m on a diet and my show is getting closer… but I enjoy it so much, that there’s nothing right now that could keep me away from hitting the stage again in the near future!”
Inga wants to thank all her fans for support and kind words. She can be contacted by email at inga.neverauskaite@yahoo.co.uk. Good luck to Inga in her future competitions!

About the Author...
Kaisa Piippo
I am an enthusiastic and goal-oriented
23 year old future figure competitor from Finland. Currently I'm
getting ready for my first figure competition in April 2006 in
Finland. I have been training for the competition for nearly two
years. While preparing for my first show I have been living in
hot and sunny Arizona. Since it's hard for a foreigner to get
a permission to work in the States, I have been studying the fitness
industry and lifestyle 24/7. It doesn't always take the competition
experience to learn about the sport because being around it teaches
a lot too! By all the knowledge I've gathered I now feel confident
on stepping on the stage and learning some more about fitness,
this time by experiencing the competition excitement myself.
So how to learn fitness in theory? For most of
my knowledge I can thank Pakkotoisto.com,
energetic NPC fitness athlete Katie
Madden and of course the ever informative Hard
Fitness! |
