2006 Sacramento IFBB Figure Pro and NPC Championships Review by Juan Carlos Lopez, notes by Andrea Giacomi

Gina Camacho

The last Pro show of the year in Sacramento, CA. A very calm city who only became alive the last few years with their basketball team the Sacramento Kings. Bibby, Divac, Stojakovic and a few others. Now that part of that team is dismantled few might be emotions that city will live from now on. Mr. John Tuman put on a great show again, minus the fitness but with a one day show all together with the NPC and IFBB competitors. Many good names came to compete to this show and from different parts of the world.

Juliana Malacarne

The IFBB Pro Figure was taken by Gina Camacho who brought a tight and strong package as she is known for. Gina has never showed up out of shape, she commands that area in every show. 2nd place was Valerie Waugaman who simmered down her posing and gave judges a better view of her physique. Valerie's shape and balance is what makes her stand out. Danielle Hollenshade crept up on 3rd spot to qualify to the Olympia. Andrea Dumon took 4th presenting a fuller look than at the San Francisco Pro earlier this year. in 5th the stunning Christine Wan brought a great package and as an adroit observer of the shows she has found out what they are looking for. Other physiques that really stood out was as always Zhanna Rotar who is smaller than when she was in the NPC. Heather Mae French with a fuller and less tight package placed much better this time. Last but not least the new sensation of figure Juliana Malacarne came in much smaller and registered a look judges appealed to. Her balance and shape is fantastic, calves and shoulders with a good amount of muscle. Her v-taper and tight glutes-ham tie area makes her invincible from the back pose. She only needs to compete more and get her name out there. So is the case with Arina Manta who came in smaller but still very tight and well proportioned.

Karen Hawkins

The NPC Figure was all for Karen Hawkins who had an excellent look on stage but also a killer v-taper that most other girls didn't have. Karen took masters overall and open overall cleaning the house and probably making a debut for 2007 Nationals. Other notables were Erin Heath and Robin Sinclear. For Erin this is her first competition kudos to her trainer Jenny Lynn (Ms. O Figure) for getting her ready.

Carrie Schindley

In Fitness Carrie Schindley won easily with her cowboy theme which I must say is better than some seasoned pros. Bodybuilding was smaller and Lana King emerged the winner with ease.
