Houston Figure Pro and NPC John Sherman Classic by Juan Carlos Lopez
Houston had the first pro figure show added to their NPC portion. It was advertised also as having Adela Garcia competing in figure. Sugarland, TX a suburb of the large metropolis Houston was the hosting city for this event. Sugarland is very classy but expensive and the event took place in a small but good theater.
Pro Figure was small only 16 competitors, Valerie Waugaman had come in from her Colorado Pro show win and had no problems taking this one as well. Zivile Raudoniene took 2nd place after her NYC pro win. Zivile is an example of what the judges are going for in the pro ranks, much more mainstream look. Adela took 3rd and since all had qualified to the Olympia it looks like Bernardette Galvan got a free ticket as well. Bernardette brings in a pretty good look and tight body. Natalie Benson with her miniature waist took 5th and Andrea Dumon followed in 6th. We saw the come backs of Darlina Brown, Claire Parmley and Monica Hoyer's first year of pro competition.
The NPC figure class A was easily won by Flor August who brought a sharp body, not much bodyfat at all. Priscilla Barrero from Mexican descent took the B Class and eventually took the whole figure show. She has a look that is exactly what NPC wants. Very femenine and good conditioning. Celeste Bonin took class C and she has a lot of potential at 20 years old. Matching calves and shoulder, upper and lower body on the side pose match well too. Emine Lou took the tallest class in which the other 4 followed by.
Masters Figure was for Amy Owens who did fairly well at the NPC open portion and in second the great Roxanne Edmonton who could have also taken the masters class. Fitness was all for Christine Rojas who defeated her other two opponents, Stacy House and Heather Baker. Bodbyduilding was taken by Candy Cotton on the heavy classes and Unis Gallegos on the lightweight class.
