2009 Contra Costa Championships Review by Juan Carlos Lopez

Hayward was again the location of this show, Chabot College has become very familiar for anyone who has been in the SF Bay area and competed or attended NPC shows. Parking outside of the college is free and not too far from venue.

Wendy Fortino

Figure class A was up and Wendy Fortino took this class over Susan Salazar and Maria Harvey 2 very good physiques. Wendy ended up taking the overall at this show. It was a very competitive class and was were also would bring two overall in the next two California shows. Sarah Gardner who has made great improvement in 4th and Trish wood in 5th.
Class B was for Megan Phi, Michelle Watson with her great looks to 2nd, Kaellie Fisher 3rd, Sharle Killorn 4th and mother of 3 Sarah Greenbank took 5th.
Class C was for Jennifer Aguirre, 2nd for Barbara Mencer at 45yrs old, Elizabeth Jenkins in 3rd, young Kelly Barton in 4th and Natalie Bastaio in 5th. Class D was for Christy Dalton who brought a dry physique, Michelle Battista 2nd, Ashley Butts in 3rd, Andrea Rosenfeld 4th and Noelle Decker in 5th.

Maria Harvey

Masters Figure A was for Maria Harvey who has amazing abs and looks very good overall, Christy Dalton took the tall class. But it was Maria who took the overall. In over 45+ Barbara Mencer took the whole class with ease, Barbara can do masters nationals and probably get her pro card.

Stacey Oster

Fitness was won by the only contestant Carrie Simmons, its sad to see there aren't much competitors in this category. Bikini was loaded with even some other out of state competitor. Colorado Stacey Oster took the show and her class. Notable was 3rd place class A Kerri Sherman. Natalie Pennington won the tall class and also notable was the looks of Rhiannon Genov.

Heather Mae French

Bodybuilding was for heavyweight Gabrielle Nicander, Patty Corbett took the lightweights and Connie Holt the middleweights. Some other competitors made comebacks to this category such as Robin Gizzi and Carla Rossi who was improved her lower body.
