2010 Arnold Classic and Arnold Amateur Review by Juan Carlos Lopez

The cold Columbus, OH hosted again another edition of the Arnold Classic. In 2009 the weather was perfect, between 60-70 degrees all day long. This year it was around 25-35 degrees but no snow or rain.

Nicole Wilkins

Pro Figure was for Nicole Wilkins which might be an indication that she will repeat the Olympia once more. She has a very mainstream look that is very similar to bikini so not sure what the IFBB will be doing with the bikini pros and with the other figure girls who are coming in more conditioned. 2nd places was for Erin Stern who wasn't as conditioned but has some great lines. Heather Mae French in third always has a nice balance and then 4th for Mindi Smith who is surely the rookie of the year with her great physique and looks. Felicia Romero took 5th place and Larissa Reis who has one of the best pro physiques on that stage took 6th. Larissa

Mindi Smith

has done really well at the last few shows despite her more muscular physique. Monica Brant took 7th but we all know her physique is on a another level, and its not even her best package, she has toned it down a lot for the judging standards today.

Adela Garcia

Pro Fitness was for Adela once more, with Jenny H Adela took the honors. Julie Palmer in second with her fast routines and Tanji Johnson in 3rd with a better condition than Phoenix. Trish Warren in 4th and Oksana Grishina who has amazing routines and unreal physique took 5th. Camala Rodriguez the Jr. Nats winner took 6th, also noted was Kizzy Vaines excellent routine and Myriam Capes always fun to watch.

Oksana Grishina

Pro Bodybuilding was for Iris Kyle, 2nd for Yaxeni and 3rd for Debi Laszewski. It is getting

Iris Kyle

harder to pick a winner. Debi look very feminine and is hard as nails. But judges seem to want that Iris longer shape with her full detail. 4th for Lisa Aukland who always impresses with her lower body. Betty Pariso in 5th doesn't slow down despite her age and Dayana Cadeau in 6th with less condition than usual. Notable were Zoa Linsey and Alina Popa who brought very good physiques.

Debi Laszewski
Gloria Keplinger

NPC Figure A was for Gloria Keplinger who also won the overall. Class B for Natalia Lenartova from Slovakia, she has shown great lines and looks. Class C was for Tambra Stewart, but at this point the top 5 have a few international competitors which seems interesting. Class D for Heather Ruelan, Class E for Norway's Elisabet Haugsbo another international competitor. Class F was for Iceland's Katrin Audunsdottir. Masters Figure was for Angela Kegler in class A who will surely get her pro card soon, very impressive physique.

Nicole Cavalcanti

Fitness A was for Michelle Yeager, B and overall for Nicole Cavalcanti over the amazing Minna Pajulahti. Marta Aguiar from Uruguay won class C and had an amazing physique.

Maria Rita Bello

Bodybuilding was small again this year for the amateurs, lightweights was for Lisa Aranda, middleweights for Marina Lemenovskaya who has great potential with her physique and looks. And heavyweight for Maria Rita Bello over Salla Kauranen from Finland. The Argentinean Maria Rita Bello always bring the best conditioned physique even better than the pro men themselves.

Chady Dunmore

For Bikini portion the lineups were stacked, probably too many for only 3 classes. Annette Perry took class A over Michelle Cagle. In Bikini B Noemi Olah from Hungary brought some amazing beauty and just perfect bikini physique. Class C and overall was Chady Dunmore who has a look similar to the overall winner for Nationals 2009 regarding shape and conditioning. It seems this is what they are looking for.
