How to maintain a happy mood while on a Low Carbohydrate Diet
by Jessica Kerley

Kim's Kounseling Korner by Kimberly Martin

Dear Kim,

I have been competing a lot lately and even when my husband is very supportive and nice. I sometimes feel I don't love him anymore, not sure what it is! I am very confused, there are times I really think about divorcing but my family and friends tell me there is no reason to do so. People tell me its the diet and all these shows that are making me feel like this. How do I balance a great life with my husband but also keep dieting and training really hard? Is there a happy medium to feel less up and down?

thanks,
Nadine

Nadine,
Thanks for the question!
I'm married and have felt the same way at times. The dedication to diet and training can sometimes take priority over family and friends. I know you might not want to hear this, but you really need to take a break from the training (and diet)...it's only fair...you're taking time away from your husband when you devote time to training.
Maybe a break will help you reconnect with your husband and you'll realize how lucky you are to have such a supportive spouse.
You could also consider having your husband train with you-my husband and I do and it's the next best thing to a date!
Good luck and I hope this helps.
Kim
