Editorial by Juan Carlos Lopez Its a new year, 2007 and competitions will be starting very soon. We hope 2007 will bring better and better competitors to the stage. 2006 brought out many top competitors, great shows in general. This year will bring some surprises as well in general and perhaps even more shows will be around. How to get Invited to the Arnold Many people ask how to get invited to the Arnold? For those who think its a simple game of politics you could be half way right but for those who look at the current list of competitors will notice there is a simple formula. -Winners of the Olympia or Arnold There are of course exceptions given that the choices are man-made which in turn might render one or two competitors which don't fit the criteria above. Below is the list from the www.arnoldclassic.com it shows a few competitors who managed to creep in such as Zhanna Rotar, Christine Wan, Debbie Leung and Bethany Gainey. There are many competitors that should be on that list specially those that are international, Juliana Malacarne with her outstanding physique comes to mind for example. Some of these competitors are the ones that need to be considered, luckily Inga Neverauskaite was accepted given her great placing at the Montreal show. So chances are that if you do very well at certain shows you will get invited to the Arnold. The other reality is that you have to have the look judges are looking for in order to even place well at shows. This indeed becomes a vicious circle that at times repeats the same competitors and only adds a few here and there.
