Well, we are coming to a close in 2007.  I can’t believe another year has past and that we are quickly approaching 2008.  Words can’t express how much I appreciate all of you!  Thank you for all of your questions comments and support.  I also wanted to take this time to thank JC for providing a great portal for all of us.  To view not only wonderful pictures but for the recognition he provides for so many as well as allowing us to have access to great articles and stories from such a variety of athletes!

One of the recurring questions that keep coming up is “how to eat somewhat good during the holiday season”.
This can be a tough time of year, especially for competitors considering this is a time off from competing and we all want to enjoy some goodies.  Here are a few tips to help you stay on the right track!

*Continue Exercising - If you are taking in more calories during this time of year, now would not be the best time to take a break.  If you have to travel quite a bit you could:
-bring along some exercise bands
-go for a walk or a jog
-even get back to the basics and do some push-ups, sit ups, jumping jacks….
(It may not be what you are used to but it’s at least doing something to stay active while you are traveling, so no excuses!)

*Plan Ahead for the Gym– If you know you are going to a holiday party put in some extra time at the gym, even a little extra cardio can go a long way

*Plan Your Meals – Try to eat healthy meals leading up to the party.  One of the things I do is shed some of my carbs with my meals throughout the day before the party.  That way I don’t feel as guilty and I can enjoy a treat!  Use a smaller plate to help with your portion sizes and be picky with what you want to splurge on (meaning - go for the 1 or 2 items that you look forward to all year & stay away from the stuff that just ok). Whatever you do, do not go to a holiday party hungry!!!!

I hope this helps!  I wish everyone a wonderful, safe & fun holiday season!  I wanted to leave you with an inspirational message as we come to a close in 2007!

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
